We are thrilled to announce the successful inauguration of our state-of-the-art plasma furnace at HYDROMETAL Belgium, a subsidiary of JGI-HYDROMETAL. This groundbreaking technology, developed in collaboration with the CRM Group, marks a significant milestone in the recycling industry and positions us at the forefront of industrial innovation in Europe.

A Leap Forward in Recycling Technology

The new plasma furnace, which operates at temperatures comparable to the surface of the sun, is specifically designed for the recycling of non-ferrous metals. It is adept at processing waste from the green economy, electrical and electronic waste, battery residues, catalysts, and permanent magnets. This cutting-edge technology also facilitates the recovery of high-value metals, including rare earth elements and other precious materials vital for digital technology.

Supported by a 6-million-euro investment from the Walloon Region, this initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to developing the recycling industry and the circular economy. The plasma furnace will complement the existing tools of our R&D and industrial partners, enhancing our capacity to recycle and recover strategic metals essential to modern technology.

Inauguration Highlights

The inauguration event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Willy Borsus, Ministre – Vice-President of the Walloon Government, and Bourgmestre of Liège. Their presence underscores the importance of this innovative project for Belgium’s industrial and environmental future.
